Frequently Asked Questions

What is pH?

pH is a scientific abbreviation for potential Hydrogens. They are Hydrogens without their orbiting electrons, “hungry for other atom’s electrons. When this type of Hydrogen eats other atom’s electrons, it is called an Acid reaction.” The number of Hydrogens in a drop of water is huge, more than you can imagine.

So the numbers on the pH scale “1 to 7 (acid) and 7 to 14 (alkaline) are mathematical exponents “squaring and cubing and up the scale in powers of 10. Now you can manage BIG numbers of Hydrogens.

Example: the difference between a pH of 7 and 8 is 1 or 10 times more alkaline.

The difference between a pH of 7 and 9 is 2 or 100 times more alkaline. Therefore, evamor, with a pH of 8.8, is almost 100 times more alkaline than water with a pH of 7?

What does evamor taste like?

While evamor’s alkalinity doesn’t affect its taste, its purity does. And Evamor’s purity makes it taste decidedly smooth to the palate. With no harsh filtering and nothing added or removed, evamor tastes the way water should:  clean and refreshing.

What is alkalinity, and what does it do for my health?

Inside your body are two extremes – acid and alkaline, measured by a factor called pH. To maintain good health, your body constantly strives to stay slightly alkaline. According to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, our bodies function best at a pH level between 7.2 and 7.6. Just as acid rain can destroy a forest, excess acid in your body can lead to serious health consequences. Daily maintenance through nutrition is fundamental to achieving a balanced body. Healthy pH is critical for body functions, resulting in more energy, less illness, healthy sleep, sound bones and teeth, longer health spans as we age, better circulation and healthy weight with less fat.

“Magnesium-rich and alkaline foods like dark leafy greens and seaweed… as well as foods full of flavonoids like green tea… are naturally anti-inflammatory and less toxic than medications due to their inherent abilities to cleanse and rebuild immunity.” Source: FOXNEWS SEP 4 2007/ HEALTHY EATING

What do you add to evamor to make it alkaline?

Nothing is added to evamor to make it alkaline. evamor is naturally alkaline-rich, perfected in a rare artesian aquifer that’s protected miles below the ground; over thousands of years, mineral deposits in the aquifer give the water its high alkalinity and its wonderfully smooth taste.

evamor is bottled right at the source, in our state of the art facility built directly on top of the aquifer. A sealed system captures the water as it flows upward, filters it for sediment, ozonates it and places it directly into high-grade, PET1 (BPA-free) bottles. When a bottle of evamor is opened, it is the very first time that the water is ever exposed to air or human contact.

What is the source of evamor artesian water?

evamor’s source is a rare artesian aquifer in Covington, Louisiana, one-half mile underground, protected by tons of impenetrable rock. The aquifer consistently tests free of pollutants such as Tritium, a man-made radioactive isotope found in all surface waters. Being Tritium-free assures that no surface waters or pollutants have violated Evamor’s aquifer.

Repeated, rigorous, real-time testing also guarantee that evamor is naturally high in alkaline with a pH of 8.8 – 9.1.

The aquifer is considered artesian because the source is encapsulated and protected by impervious shale, deep in the earth. The water started its journey to the aquifer thousands of years ago, falling as rain and into the Appalachian Mountains.

What is tritium, and why is it important?

Tritium is a man-made radioactive isotope found in all surface waters.

Being Tritium-free assures that no surface waters or pollutants have violated evamor’s aquifer, and that the aquifer is encapsulated and separate from surface pollution.

What are the “dark specks” in my evamor water?

Some of our 64-ounce bottles may contain what looks like “dark specks” in the water, but please rest assured that this NOT in any way harmful. It is strictly a cosmetic issue. When temperatures are cold, ozonation can cause the minerals in the water to “flock”, or turn solid. In fact, a simple shake of the bottle makes the specks disappear.

We add nothing to our water during the bottling process, other than pure oxygen, and we have since calibrated our process to eliminate any flocking.

I tested evamor with pH strips, and it is not 8.8. Why not?

evamor’s natural pH fluctuates between 8.8 and 9.1 over time, so the lowest pH measurement is printed on the label.

evamor has a low ionic strength, which means that normal pH test paper strips will not work to test its pH. You must use low ionic strength pH test paper strips such as those offered by Micro Essential Labs. For best accuracy, use a calibrated pH meter.

Urine test strips do not work.

The water drawn from our aquifer is pH tested hourly during production and continuously monitored. evamor’s pH is confirmed quarterly by a third-party laboratory.
