This Season, Go Greek!
As we say goodbye to summer, we say hello to tailgating and party season! Swapping protein rich Greek yogurt in place of sour cream is one of our favorite “baby steps” to living a healthier lifestyle. Just how drinking alkaline – rich evamor water is step you can take to improve your health, making simple swaps in your everyday recipes can add up overtime. These swaps allow you to remove empty calories, sugar and fat from some of your favorite recipes, while adding protein and vitamins, and not sacrificing flavor!
We love Greek yogurt for its many health benefits, including its high protein content and calcium, not to mention its creamy consistency! When using Greek yogurt as a healthy swap for sour cream or mayo, the rule of thumb is a 1:1 ratio. It can basically replace those other ingredients entirely, especially in dips and dressings. It can also be a fine substitute for sour cream in baking; just keep in mind that Greek yogurt is tangier than sour cream and mayo, so you may have to adjust your other ingredients like sugar and salt.
