Why doesn’t Evamor come in glass bottles?

June 2, 2011

Evamor is better for your body, and we’ve made sure every step of the process that delivers it to you is better for our world as well. What do we mean by that? Well…

Our state-of-the-art bottling plant is located directly at the source, eliminating the need to ship our water elsewhere for bottling.

Our new bottles are made from PET 1 polyester, a material that can be recycled into fleece coats, pillow batting and more rather than taking up space in landfills. Our bottles are also free of BPA, an organic compound that many believe can lead to serious health problems in humans, including obesity, cancer, birth defects and more.

We would love, love, love to bottle our water in glass bottles – for consumers and restaurants. However, there are no US based glass manufacturers. Most glass bottles are produced now in Italy, Mexico and China. Shipping glass is expensive and leaves a huge carbon footprint. We continue to look for a glass bottle that is good for consumers and the environment. Until then, we will use PET1 – the best, most recyclable plastic available.
