Take a Walk & Unplug

Want to be happier? Unplug. We mean it, put away the screens, step away from the computer and give yourself at least 3 to 5 minutes to simply relax. How? Just breathe. Inhale, exhale. Stress levels go down, energy goes up. It’s that simple.

Our idea of #LookUpDrinkUp is about putting down the screens and instead, looking up at the world around you. Be in the moment.

If you’re struggling with detaching from your phone or emails, try to detach slowly using these simple tips:

-Beginner: Allow yourself to check once every hour for 10 minutes. Make sure to put your phone on silent.

-Intermediate: Check every two hours, then go outside to the garden or take a walk to stay away from scrolling.

-Advanced: Make “Airplane Mode” your new normal! Set your phone to Airplane Mode for 4 hours and enjoy being tech free! Hey, what’s that, a book? Interesting…

Once you have mastered the art of unplugging, try to get your whole family on board. Really being involved in family time is what #LookUpDrinkUp is all about. Grab the whole gang and go outside. Have a picnic, take a walk or organize a scavenger hunt around the yard! Or stay inside and make a pillow fort! In the evenings, instead of retreating to the TV or iPad, read a book together. Take turns reading aloud, if your children are old enough.

This is what life is all about. So make sure you #LookUpDrinkUp the moment!
